Sorry, I should have said: "Alternate" is the META key. Is it possible to map the NMI to F0? I don't really have any ideas for how to use the rest of the function keys. That's why I was looking for a keyboard that didn't include them.

Sorry I am lost. You must define clearly your keyboard. Yes, you can map NMI to F0. Where is the Symbol key?

The CTRL keys are Symbol except when Scroll Lock is on, when they switch to Kempston FIRE, and the cursors switch to Kempston directions, as per the other designs. I'll try to find some time to do a map that matches the other maps to make it all clearer, but I've got visitors for the next three months so I'm a little short on time.

Ok, this is how the mapping would look with the original ROM being used. Note that this is for a UK layout and there are substitutions @ for ", ~ for | and £ for \:



Hopefully that explains it. That's all the keys I can think to map. What other things can be mapped to keys? Is it possible to encode sequences of keys? If so it might be nice to have "LOAD "" ENTER" on a key.

In SE Basic there are no symbols that require an EXTEND button (there is no EXTEND button). ~ \ | { } [ ] are all available with a combination of SYMBOL and a key. If you look at the latest pic I posted you'll see the TOKENs they replace.

The standard UK layout has " on 2 and @ above ' but I've reversed that because the Spectrum has @ above 2 and so does a UK Mac keyboard. Also the ~` and |\ keys are switched. This is just a personal preference of mine. I assume substitutions are possible.

As well as the tenkeyless from wasdkeybaords.com there's also the KBT Poker 2 60% to consider (http://www.amazon.co.uk/KBT-Poker-Mecha ... B00GERIXBG). It doesn't come with a USB to PS/2 adapter but it is compatible. Again, not cheap though. And I prefer having separate cursor keys.

Siento meterme donde nadie me llama, pero se está desvirtuando el hilo con esto del inglés. Una cosa es contestar o leer un mensaje en inglés, pero ya van para tres páginas solo en inglés y esto es un foro español. Entiendo que se pregunte en inglés y se responda como tal, pero al menos, pensad en la gente que no entiende inglés y necesita andar con traductores.
Lo ideal, aunque sea un lío, es que nosotros, contestemos en español, de modo que la cosa quede en el 50% inglés-español.


Sorry to get me where no one calls me, but it is distorting the thread with English. One thing is to answer or read a message in English, but we are only three pages in English and Spanish this is a forum. I understand that English is ask and answer as such, but at least, think of people who do not understand English and need to walk with translators.
Ideally, even a mess, is that we reply to you in Spanish, so the thing stays in the 50% English-Spanish.

En el otro hilo también hay unos cuantos mensajes, y otro angloparlante adicional (velesoft). Yo procuro escribirlo todo en español salvo cuando tengo que responder a aowen o a velesoft. Podría escribir en los 2 idiomas (como has hecho tú) pero tardaría el doble en contestar, y si les respondo sólo en español se lían con el google traslate. Ya ha pasado antes.

I appreciate that this is a Spanish forum, but my Spanish is virtually non-existent and Google translate mangles English to Spanish translation. I'm happy for people to reply to my messages in Spanish, but I don't think I should be excluded just because I don't know Spanish, especially when I have contributed to ZX-Uno by developing the ULAplus and Chloe 280SE specifications and writing SE Basic IV.

No, lo siento, no me has entendido. No es por excluirte, es por la gente que no entiende. No todo el mundo lee o escribe inglés. Y para poder seguir el hilo se necesita usar traductores. Te conozco aowen, tu intención es buena, pero entiende tú que el foro es español y es un problema escribir en dos idiomas, por que al final, el hilo pierde sentido y solo intervienen dos personas: tú y antoniovillena. Por eso, digo yo, que si tu escribes es inglés, nosotros deberíamos contestar en español, y por lo menos, solo el 50% debemos traducir para entender.

No, sorry, you misunderstood me. Is not for exclude you, it's for people who do not understand. Not everyone reads or writes English. And to follow the thread you need to use translators. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I agree, if you speak Spanish it is better to reply in Spanish, this being a Spanish forum. Google Translate does a reasonable job of Spanish to English translation and it's really no problem for me to use it.

En total hay 5 teclados: 2 de McLeod, 2 de Andrew Owen y 1 mío. Los de Andrew Owen irán en una plantilla aparte. Yo le he dado el visto bueno a 2 teclados, al mío y al McLeod español. Falta que McLeod confirme su variante inglesa y que se confirmen los 2 de Andrew Owen.
